2025: The Year of Reflection – Embracing the Wisdom of the Hermit Tarot Card

As we step into 2025, we collectively share a powerful tarot archetype that sets the tone for the year: The Hermit, also known in some decks as The Crone. This card represents inward energy, introspection, and the quest for personal truth. Let’s explore what this means for us as individuals and as a collective and how we can align with its wisdom to make the most of the year ahead.

What is a Universal Year Tarot Card?

While each of us has a personal year tarot card (calculated using our birth date), there’s also a card that influences us collectively. It’s based on the sum of the digits in the year:

2 + 0 + 2 + 5 = 9

In the tarot deck, the number 9 corresponds to The Hermit, a card that symbolizes reflection, solitude, and seeking clarity. It’s an invitation for us all to slow down, look within, and align with our deeper truths.

The Wisdom of the Hermit (or The Crone)

Whether you call it The Hermit or The Crone, the essence remains the same: it’s a year of inner growth and self-discovery. The Hermit asks us to pause the noise of the external world and reconnect with our inner light, guiding us toward our purpose and truth.

Tips for Embracing the Energy of 2025

Here are some ways to embody the reflective energy of The Hermit:

1. Seek Solitude and Slowness to Find Clarity

Create space for stillness in your daily life.

• Try lighting candles at sunset instead of relying on artificial light. This simple practice slows down the energy in your home, helping everyone (even children) feel calmer.

• Take moments to disconnect from distractions and reconnect with yourself through mindful breathing or journaling.

2. Focus on Inner Growth, Not External Validation

Shift your focus from external expectations to what truly lights you up.

• Reduce time spent checking likes or follower counts on social media. Instead, share from the heart and let your authenticity shine.

• For example, I recently removed followers who never engaged with my content. My follower count decreased, but my connections became more meaningful. This year isn’t about numbers—it’s about quality and alignment.

3. Discover Your True Purpose

Listen to the spark of intuition guiding you toward what feels right.

• Engage in activities that ignite your curiosity or passion. When you feel that spark, trust it—that’s your inner compass saying “Yes!”

• Pay attention to what makes you feel alive and fulfilled, and lean into those pursuits.

Why This Year Matters

The Hermit’s energy teaches us that growth doesn’t always come from outward action. Sometimes, the most profound transformations happen when we look inward, embrace stillness, and honor our own rhythm.

2025 is an opportunity to reflect on your journey, connect deeply with your truth, and step forward with clarity and purpose.

A Simple Practice to Anchor You

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or ungrounded this year, try this:

1. Sit quietly and close your eyes.

2. Take a deep breath and imagine a light glowing inside your heart.

3. Let that light guide you inward, revealing your inner truth.

4. When ready, open your eyes and take one small action that aligns with this truth.

As we collectively embrace this Year of Reflection, may we each find the clarity, wisdom, and peace we need to move forward with purpose.
